OSWEGO, NY (August 2, 2021) – Compass Federal Credit Union is pleased to introduce its all new ‘Penny Pinchers’ program, allowing members to save money for any occasion with every debit card swipe.
In order to qualify for the program, members must have a checking account with a debit card.
Members are able to enroll in the ‘Penny Pinchers’ program in-person at any Compass office. Enrollment is associated with the members checking account and the program will apply to all active debit cards associated with the enrolled checking account.
After enrollment, each purchase using the assigned debit card will be rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. The rounded amount will then be transferred from the checking account attached to the debit card into the ‘Penny Pinchers’ Savings Account under the same membership. Each rounded amount will be between $0.01 and $0.99. Transfers will be completed at the end of the day. If the available balance of the checking account is less than the aggregated transfer amount, the transfer will not occur.
Purchases run as debit or credit made with the debit card attached to the associated checking account enrolled in the Penny Pinchers Program. ATM transactions or whole dollar amount transactions do not qualify. Deposits and transfers are not allowed into this account.
Compass FCU reserves the right to cancel or modify the ‘Penny Pinchers’ program or terminate a member’s enrollment at any time without prior notice, at the credit union’s discretion.
