OSWEGO, NY (February 16, 2023) – Nominations for the Compass Federal Credit Union Board of Directors can now be made by petition. Nominations remain open through Thursday, March 23 for three vacancies on the Board.
The petition is now available for download at www.compassfcu.com via the Board of Directors Info link under the Services tab, or at any branch.
There will be no nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting, which is again set to be held at the Fallbrook Recreation Center on the campus of SUNY Oswego on Thursday, May 4.
In order to be placed on the ballot, the petition must be signed by 80 fellow Compass members. Interested nominees must also provide a Qualifications/Bio form, which is also available for download via the Board of Directors page. All paperwork, including the petition, is to be emailed to the Nominations Committee at [email protected] by March 23.
Current nominees for the Board include incumbents Michael Pisa and Lisa Distin-Hoefer, as well as first time candidates Sarah Hoefer and David Pauldine.
Currently employed at SUNY Oswego as the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Security, Pisa has served as the President of the Compass Federal Credit Union Board of Directors since 2019 after serving the previous year as Vice President. Pisa also served on the Board of Directors at Oswego Heritage FCU for seven years prior to the merger between Compass and Heritage in 2016.
Distin-Hoefer, a private duty nurse for 20 years, is seeking a fifth term on the Compass Board of Directors. A member of the Board for more than ten years, Distin-Hoefer has been actively involved in many credit union events and committees including the Bank at School program, the credit union’s Annual Picnic, Easter and Halloween parades, as well as the Succession Committee, Bylaws Committee and Contributions Committee.
Seeking election for the first time, Sarah Hoefer is a NYS Licensed Associate Broker for Century 21 Galloway Realty. Listing leadership, business matters, public relations and marketing or sales as experience, Hoefer hopes to help build community relationships and bring further awareness to the credit union if elected. Hoefer’s skills in organization, negotiating, customer services, sales and planning are assets she believes she can bring to the credit union.
David Pauldine, a Supervisor at Anthony Pauldine Contracting, has been a Compass member since 2011. Like Hoefer, Pauldine aims to help the credit union build awareness and meaningful relationships in the community. Pauldine believes he can be an asset to the credit union through his experience in business ownership, customer relations, business accounting and property management.
