OSWEGO, NY (May 5, 2023) – Compass Federal Credit Union’s 57th Annual Meeting took place on Thursday, May 4, inside the Lodge at the Fallbrook Recreation Center, with three board members elected.
Incumbents Michael Pisa and Lisa Distin-Hoefer were each re-elected to new three year terms, while Sarah Hoefer was elected to her first term.
The 57th Annual Meeting was called to order by Board President, Pisa, at 7 p.m. Board member Andy Bucher handled the casting of ballots prior to the opening of the meeting.
Following a motion to approve last year’s meeting minutes, Don Piazza reviewed the Treasurer’s report with Tom O’Toole providing a Supervisory Committee report.
O’Toole was pleased to report that the credit union is being run efficiently and effectively and is continuing to grow each year.
Pisa and Compass FCU Manager, Jennifer Rupert, then addressed the state of the credit union to all members on hand for the meeting before fielding any questions from membership.
Pisa and Rupert each reflected on the fantastic work being done by the Compass staff in continuing to offer superior customer service and new programs for members.
“We’re pleased to see the continued growth of the credit union, which is due in large part to the great work being done by our dedicated staff and Board,” said Rupert. “We appreciate the support of our more than 7,700 members and look forward to what is to come in the future.”
Following the state of the credit union, long-time Board member Joyce Pritchard acknowledged the work of Don Piazza, Gary Brown and Nancy Powers; who are each stepping down from their credit union roles following a combined 52 years of service.
Piazza served 25 years on the Board of Directors while Brown and Powers served 15 and 12 years, respectively, on the Supervisory Committee.
Each was presented a dedication plaque by Pisa and Rupert.
Members on hand at the meeting were eligible to win one of three VISA Gift Cards provided by the credit union. Joanne Gardner was the recipient of the $100 grand prize. Other VISA Gift Card winners included Jo Jones and Gary Brown, each winning $50.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Bucher announced the three elected members of the Board including Michael Pisa, Lisa Distin-Hoefer and Sarah Hoefer.
New Board member, Sara Hoefer, is a NYS Licensed Associate Broker for Century 21 Galloway Realty.
